The Basket Case exhibition which is currently at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare is a new initiative by The New Basket Workshop and Alliance Francaise aimed at elevating the awareness of basketry in Zimbabwe, a the craft that has only recently been considered for use in visual art. The exhibition was curated and designed by South African designer Heath Nash. Nash’s curation shows the natural weaving techniques of basketry and how this craftwork have evolved from traditional to more contemporary creations.
